January 15, 2001 was the last day I spent in my childhood home of 16 years. It was a good day, but I was unaware of the huge impact that home had made on my heart and mind. I've spent the last eight years trying to recapture the feeling of "home" in new cities, new houses, new relationships and new experiences. What I've learned instead is that our journeys may take us all over the world but "home" is a place you have to make in your heart so you can carry it with you wherever you go.
